About Us
The Department of Animal Nutrition was established in 2020 with the up-gradation of the University College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences to the Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences. The Department has highly qualified, skilled faculty with a sound knowledge and understanding of animal nutrition and feed science and technology. The Department has a modern feed analysis laboratory and a feed formulation computer laboratory for academic and research activities on various aspects of poultry and ruminant nutrition. The Department has always conducted problem-oriented research in the field of animal nutrition for the support of allied poultry and dairy industries. Along with the academic and research activities, the Department has significantly contributed to solving the field problems and helping the farmers of Southern Punjab, particularly the Cholistan region.
The Department currently offers MPhil Animal Nutrition Program as well as courses of various under-graduate degree programs including DVM, BS Animal Sciences, BS Poultry Sciences, and Livestock Assistant Diploma. Moreover, the Department intends to start PhD Animal Nutrition Program in near future.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Department is to produce trained professionals vested with the responsibility of providing technology-based knowledge to the farmers, feed millers and other animal production-related personnel. Moreover, the mission is also to conduct problem-oriented research in the field of animal nutrition for the support of allied poultry and dairy industries.
Vision Statement
The vision of the Department is to be one of the leading institutions for education, research and training in the field of animal nutrition.
