It aims to help people develop their skills and ability to use their own resources and those of the community to resolve problems. Social Work is concerned with individual and personal problems and broader social issues.
Human rights and social justice are the philosophical underpinning of Social Work practice. The uniqueness of Social Work practice is the blend of some particular values, knowledge and skills, including the use of relationship on the basis of all interventions and respect for the clients choice and involvement. Social Workers always play important roles for the well being of human race all over the world, round the clock.
The Department of Social Work accepts the challenge to produce committed professionals and dedicated Social Workers. It is on the way to enhance the experts in this field.
Currently, the department is offering MA Program. In future it is planning to initiate MPhil and PhD classes. In addition, the department will offer diplomas of Social Planning, Community Development, Criminology & Criminal Justice for the expansion of competency of professional Social Workers in the market.
