University College of Engineering & Technology

The establishment of University College of Engineering & Technology (UCET) was announced by the Prime Minister of Pakistan on 23rd February 1999 as a constituent college of The Islamia University of Bahawalpur. The main purpose was to provide cutting edge technical education is both accessible and affordable for the aspiring young students of the country in general and for the students of Southern Punjab in particular. The University administration took the matter seriously and devoted a team of academician as well as administrative staff to work out the practical details of the project.

The college started admissions in Electronic Engineering discipline only in October 1999 with an intake of 40 students. In the year 2005, Computer Systems Engineering discipline was established. In the year 2007 department of Electrical (Power) Engineering and in the year 2008 department of Telecommunication Engineering were established. All the four B.Sc. engineering degree programs have been accreditated by the Pakistan Engineering Council upto intake batch of session 2009-2013. For session 2010-2014, we have applied for accreditation to PEC and hopefully at the end of this year batch 2010-14 of all the four B.Sc. Engineering degree Programmes will also be re-accreditated by (PEC) the Pakistan Engineering Council.

Currently there are 52 faculty members who are engaged in teaching more than 1200 students in four years (8 Semester). 12 faculty members are doing their Ph.D. in various countries, res of the teachers are M.E/M.Sc. Engineering degree holders.

The college has excellent infrastructure comprising of State of the Art air-conditioned laboratories, spacious and air-conditioned class rooms, well stocked library with more than 30,000 Engineering Books and most modern computing labs equipped with more than 400 computers, including 200 Core i7 computers and multimedia facilities in all labs and classrooms.
