Faculty of Engineering and Technology

The University College of Engineering & Technology (UCET) was established in 1999 as a constituent college of The Islamia University of Bahawalpur. The objective of the college was to provide cutting edge engineering education for the aspiring young students of the country in general and for the students of Southern Punjab in particular. The Engineering College has grown into an institution that provides excellent technical & engineering education while keeping in view the overall growth and development of the students in mind.

The college is offering undergraduate degree in electronic, computer systems, electrical (power) , telecommunication and civil engineering disciplines. While civil engineering program is expected to be launched in the next year. The college is also offering master degree in electronic, computer systems and electrical engineering. While PhD engineering program is expected to be launched soon. All undergraduate engineering programs are accredited by the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC).

There are 57 faculty members (12 PhDs and others with MS engineering degree) who are engaged in teaching around 800 students in both undergraduate and graduate engineering programs. The faculty is well- trained, highly motivated and committed to the provision of quality education and excellence to the students. The college has excellent infrastructure comprising of well-equipped air-conditioned laboratories, spacious airconditioned class rooms, well stocked library with more than 40,000 engineering books and latest computing labs equipped with more than 400 modern computers and multimedia facilities in all labs and classrooms. Engineers, after getting their degrees from this institution are playing an important role in leading the nation in the 21st century.

UCET Vision and Mission

The Engineering College and its departments have adopted the University vision and mission.

Program Educational Objectives:- Program educational objectives (PEOs) are broad statements that describe what graduates are expected to achieve a few years after graduation. PEOs of all undergraduate engineering programs at UCET are defined to meet the University mission and vision. The defined PEOs are:

PEO 1. Graduates shall demonstrate an ability to use knowledge, skills, and personality traits to

analyze, investigate complex engineering problems and design suitable solutions.

PEO 2. Graduates shall engage to benefit society through economically feasible, environment friendly and socially acceptable solutions to daily life problems by research,

innovation and applying modern tools.

PEO 3. Graduates shall inculcate professional ethics, leadership qualities, effective

communication skills and capability to succeed in inter-disciplinary and diverse fields.

PEO 4. Graduate shall pursue lifelong learning by adapting to a constantly changing field through

graduate work, and advanced education.

Program Learning Outcomes:- For all undergraduate engineering programs, UCET has adopted the following twelve PLOs as recommended by the PEC. (1) Engineering Knowledge (2) Problem Analysis (3) Design/Development of Solutions (4) Investigation (5) Modern Tool Usage ( 6) The Engineer and Society (7) Environment and Sustainability (8) Ethics (9) Individual and Team Work (10) Communication (11) Project Management (12) Lifelong Learning.

Recently , UCE&T has been upgraded into a faculty.
