Profile Summary

I am full Professor of Computer Science at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. I received Ph.D degree in Computer Science from the School of Computer Science, the University of Birmingham, Birmingham, United Kingdom. The QoS World rank of IUB is 76th in 2025. I also received M.S. degree in Computer Science (with specialization in Artificial Intelligence) from Karachi Institute of Technology, Karachi, and B.S. degree in Computer Science from Islamia University Bahawalpur, Pakistan. I am also the Head of Artificial Intelligence research group at IUB, Pakistan. Prior to this, I was working as an Associate Professor and Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science, IUB since 2008 to 2023. I was also the research fellow at Department of Informatics Engineering, University of Coimbra, Coimbra, Portugal from 2006 to 2007 under FCT fellowship. I was lecturer at UoB, Quetta and IT University (BUITMS), Quetta in 2005 and 2006, respectively. Since 2005, I have published 205 research papers in peer-reviewed international journals and conferences. That also includes 117 Web of Science publications, 141 Scopus indexed publications, and 45 IEEE Journal/IEEE conference publications. My accumulative impact factor is 171. Moreover, I have filed 03 patents. I am author an editor of 12 books published by IEEE, Springer IGI Global, USA, etc. I have more than 4000 Google Citations. My research interest includes Intelligent and Smart Systems, Internet of Things (IoT), Cloud/fog/edge Computing, Big Data and Blockchain. I was also the Associate Editor of IEEE Access journal (IF: 4.60) from 2019 to 2023. I am the member of various research organizations such as British Computer Society, IEEE, IEEE Computer Society, IEEE Sensors Council and IEEE Smart Cities Community, ACM, etc. I have supervised 23 PhD scholars in the field of Artificial Intelligence.
