Message by the Vice Chancellor

The Islamia University of Bahawalpur has, for more than three decades, been dedicated to its mission to cherish scholars who will contribute to society by advancing knowledge and imparting Islamic ideology to its new generation of students. Faculty, students and supporting staff take pride in contributing to the Islamia University’s enhanced reputation as Pakistan flagship, research-led university, known for the excellence of teaching, research, and its service to local, national and international communities.

Society is changing rapidly having a profound impact on the role of universities. The 21st century is an era of innovations. This trend, coupled with the social changes no doubt, have a major effect on the learning process. In a world where change is the norm, however, one thing is certain, knowledge will be a key resource and will be highly sought within Pakistan and around the globe. Our challenge is to help to generate the intellectual property to create new jobs, to educate and train people to work in fields where they will be valued both for their specialized knowledge, and for their ability to research, converse and solve problems.

Key to meeting above challenges is the need to build on the alliances and collaborative partnerships with business, industry, government, and other research institutions. These networks, together with the support of alumni and associates in Pakistan and overseas, are critically important if Pakistan is to realize the full benefits of its investment in the higher education. Hence it is equally significant for The Islamia University to keep close to its wider communities of interest within Pakistan and internationally. In this way we ensure the ongoing relevance of our academic programs and the continued excellence of our teaching, learning and research.

In keeping with this philosophy, The Islamia University is committed for ensuring that its teachers and taught are well informed of its goals and activities. In The Islamia University Website Profile you will find information on the University's teaching and research strengths, its diverse networks and its vibrant campuses, which offers learning and life.
