Message by the Vice Chancellor

The Islamia University of Bahawalpur is like an oasis in the desert quenching the thirst of the knowledge seeking students of this far flung area. It has a very rich historical academic background and this region was illuminated even centuries of years ago with the rays of knowledge. This area enjoyed academic excellence for past era and IUB is a reflection of this eminent factor. I feel immensely privileged to assume the charge of the office of the Vice Chancellor of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. I am highly grateful to Allah the Almighty for bestowing this honour on me. The task given to me is quite overwhelming and I need the co-operation of university faculty, management and students to fulfill my responsibility. I have been associated with the IUB for the last 35 years in various capacities and have been observing the steady progress of the university very closely. I feel proud that due to the hard work of faculty and management, IUB is now being considered as the best emerging university and we all will take it to further heights of magnificence through dedication and devotion, Insha Allah.

For the last few years there has been a continuous rise in the number of students aspiring to seek admission in IUB which is an ample proof of the credibility and its current standing among higher education institutions of the country. This also depicts the promotion of higher education in this less developed area of Southern Punjab. Profound success achieved by IUB has been unprecedented and praiseworthy and for this excellent performance, the faculty and students deserve appreciation. Under these circumstances government has been steering our nation towards success in the education sector and hopefully our concerted efforts will help IUB to be the hub of Science and Technology.

The enviable progress of IUB over the last few years has been very impressive and a role model for other universities and with the past history of 89 magnificent academic years on its back, it has not only retained its Islamic identity but has positioned itself as a well-reputed and credible institution of higher education in the highly competitive landscape of the 21st century.

In the end, I am fully confident that the IUB will continue to play its dynamic role in the promotion of knowledge in Southern Punjab while keeping its doors open for all Pakistanis and the rest of the world. I am hopeful that the faculty, management and the students will extend their utmost help to me in achieving these glories. May Allah further boost the efforts of IUB to enhance its ranking among all universities of the country. Ameen!
