Bahawalpur (                              ): Professor Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar, Vice Chancellor, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur has said that Islam is the most modern religion of the World and Muslim scholars are lagging behind as far as deciphering of technological advancement with Islamic values is concerned. Islam is a universal religion and does not differentiate mankind on ethnic or geographical basis as today human genome study has proved this fact that humans are similar to the extent of 99.99% at molecular levels. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar was addressing to newly admitted students during the orientation ceremony at main auditorium in Baghdad ul Jadeed Campus. On this occasion, hundreds of students warmly welcomed and congratulated the Vice Chancellor on performing Hajj. The Vice Chancellor said that it is an honor for the university that he was invited by Rabta Alam-e-Islami to perform Hajj and participate in historic 12th Makkah Conference, inaugurated by the honorable Governor Makah, Prince Khaled Al-Faisal Bin Abdul Aziz and attended by the Muslim scholars from all over the world. Honorable Governor Makkah on this occasion read out special message from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz which stated that mankind has deviated from the Message of Allah and falling in a deeper hole of spiritual vacuum and bankruptcy. The participants of the conference termed the IUB as a role model university of the Muslim world where both Islamic and modern scientific disciplines are being taught. The Vice Chancellor also apprised the students that a proposal to establish a Quranic Center at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur for deciphering of modern science was also discussed with this conference participants. Later, the Vice Chancellor welcomed the newly joined students and said that they are the future of the university and nation. He advised students to devote their energy on studies as both university teachers and administration are available for their guidance day and night. During the orientation ceremony students were briefed about rules and regulations, disciplinary requirements and services of transport, hostels, library and medical for the students. Director Students Affairs Prof. Dr. Mehmood Ahmed, visiting faculty member from Germany Dr. Hartmut Wellerdt and other senior faculty members were also present during this event.
