Bahawalpur (                  ): A two day training workshop on the topic of the role of clinical pharmacy concluded this evening at Abbasia Campus. This workshop was organized jointly by Department of Pharmacy, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital & Research Centre Lahore (SKMCH&RC) and was participated by experts from all over the country. The delegates discussed the matters relating to better practice of Pharmacy in detail. The recommendations approved unanimously at the end of the conference stressed upon the appointment of a clinical pharmacist at every government hospital; provision of the latest facilities of pharmacy in every District Headquarters Hospital; availability of drug information center and a poison control center at every hospital; set up of a directorate of pharmacy in every District Headquarters Hospital and grant of a stipend to every student of Pharmacy doing internship equivalent to grade-17 emoluments. On this occasion, Dean Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Mahmood Ahmed and Chairman Department of Pharmacy Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar expressed special gratitude to delegates for coming to Bahawalpur for this workshop. In the concluding session, souvenirs and shields were presented to Chief Pharmacist (SKMCH&RC) Dr. Tahir Aziz Mughal and other delegates.
