The Islamia University of Bahawalpur
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar, Vice Chancellor, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur has said that the conduct of ceremonies of Parents Day in various departments of Arts Faculty is an innovative idea which can bridge the existing gulf between students, teachers and parents. Simultaneously, in addition to get the parents aware about their children performance, teachers will also be able to know about the difficulties of the parents and their expectations from the institution.  The Vice Chancellor advised the parents that instead of heart burning about the failure of their children in the examinations, they should provide a chance to them for displaying their potential in some other discipline or department. In the developed countries, the parents after assessing the mental aptitude of their children, let them perform outstandingly in their favorite subjects. The Vice Chancellor advised the students to strictly abide by the discipline, rules and regulations during their academic career and promote academic and literary activities to make Jamia Islamia great seat of learning and peace. Earlier, Dean Faculty of arts, Prof. Dr. Shafiq Ahmed said that the university management is determined to activate the triangle of teachers, students and parents for the welfare of students to achieve the actual goal of education. Hence it becomes mandatory for the students to be punctual in their classes, spend sometime in the library, make best use of the hostels, speak eloquently, write and study devotedly and perform physical exercise. Without these factors, the students can neither gain confidence nor become good citizens of the country. On this special occasion, establishing a library comprising of Majlis-e-Iqbal was also given due consideration. The function was attended by Head of Library and Information Sciences Department, Dr. Abdul Rehman Bukhari, faculty members and students. In the end students rendered the verses of Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal.
