An extensive lecture was organized under the auspices of Department of Pakistan Studies, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. Renowned Advocate Supreme Court, Mukhtar Ahmed Farani was the guest speaker. He imparted valuable information to students of M.Phil class on series of lectures entitled “I saw the creation of Pakistan”, Department of Pakistan Studies provides exclusive opportunity to its students to get awareness about national history through the live narration of living legends. Mukhtar Ahmed Farani particularly mentioned that he got the rare opportunity to be present during the oath taking ceremony of Quaid-e-Azam as first Governor General of Pakistan and hence also got a chance to watch him very closely. He said that our elders made efforts for the creation of Pakistan and they offered unprecedented sacrifices for this cause. He also advised them to continue their efforts for the protection of its geographical and ideological boundaries. We should love our country to that much extent that the world may quote our patriotism as model. He said that we will have to struggle for its solidarity and integrity. He termed the creation of Pakistan as a miracle and stressed to highlight the two nation theory. He also drew the attention of students to the factor that Islam will get propagation in this country and with the grace of Allah the Almighty Pakistan will achieve its destiny of development. Chairman Department of Pakistan Studies, Dr. Muhammad Akbar Malik also addressed on the occasion and advised the students to become true Pakistanis. He said that our survival is associated with Pakistan’s solidarity, so we will have to utilize our potential for the stability and sovereignty of the country. He thanked guest speaker Mukhtar Ahmed Farani, faculty members and students for their active participation. On this occasion, Dr. Muhammad Khursheed, Irshad Ahmed Rashid, Dr. Aftab Gilani and Muhammad Fayyaz Anwar were also present.
