Bahawalpur ( ): Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar, Vice Chancellor, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur has said that visits of researchers and academicians of developed world to this university, and their active participation in the academic and research activities along with local faculty and students during their stay, is a revealing proof of the distinction retained by this dynamic institution at international level. The Vice Chancellor was addressing the special ceremony hosted in honour of senior faculty and researcher from Germany Prof. Dr. Karl Wierer held under the auspices of University College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences. He said that the faculty exchange programme and mutual co-operation on international level has been encouraging to introduce new trends in academic research for acquaintance of the faculty and students with the world’s best universities to bring our academic standard at par with level prevailing worldwide. For this purpose collaboration of German organization, Senior Expert Service (SES) is extremely commendable and experienced teachers and experts associated with SES visit to Bahawalpur frequently to impart awareness about latest research and educational development. The senior faculty and experts of any field visiting IUB are offered the post of Adjunct Professor, so that these teachers may come to IUB at their will for the beneficence of the student. Prof. Dr. Karl Wierer expressed his views and said that hospitality accorded to him by the Bahawalpur region will cherish his memories for a long time to come and now he feels himself as an integral part of the IUB. Similarly, devotion and commitment of local students with knowledge is unprecedented. On this occasion certificates were distributed among participants of training workshop about the latest trends in research under the supervision of the guest Professor. Dean faculty of Science Prof. Dr. Sheikh Aftab Ahmed, Director Research Prof. Dr. M. Asghar Hashmi, Director Planning and Development Muhammad Ali Wallana, Principal University College of Agriculture and Environmental Science Dr. Moazzam Jamil, faculty members and students were also present in the ceremony. |
