Concluding Session of Workshop for English Language Teachers


The Vice Chancellor Islamia University of Bahawalpur Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar has said that the universities must develop interaction and collaboration with schools and colleges situated in their jurisdiction to bridge gap between these institutions in terms of quality. He was addressing the participants of closing ceremony of a month long training workshop for English language teachers organized by the English Department with the collaboration of the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. He said that the objective of this workshop was to give awareness to English language teachers of schools and colleges with latest teaching methodology to enhance the standard of teaching and research. He further added that population of Pakistan comprises of the youth mostly, their progress and academic development is a guarantor of our bright future. He also hoped that the participants of the training workshop would create an academic link and interaction among the secondary, higher secondary and higher education institutions with the better guidance and teaching of their students. The Director English Language Teaching Reform Phase II of the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, Syed Musa Hassan highlighted the efforts of the HEC towards facilitating English language teachers of colleges and schools to increase the quality of teaching English language in order to improve the standard of education. The Vice Chancellor felicitated Dean Faculty of Arts Prof. Dr. Najeeb Jamal and Chairperson English Department Prof. Dr. Mamuna Ghani for conducting a very useful workshop. Later on, the Vice Chancellor distrusted certificates among the participants.
