The Department of Economics, was established in 1977. Initially, this department offered MA Economics. Now it is offering the following programs: MSc Economics, MSc Economics and Finance, Master of Business Economics, MPhil and PhD in Economics. The main objective is to offer broad based knowledge and prepare the students for versatile economic management careers.
Learning objectives of courses have been set to impart students the training that is required to cope with challenges of the countrys economy. Highly qualified and trained faculty is always willing to help the future economists and business professionals.
The Department has modern laboratories equipped with a large number of computers and multimedia facilities. The Central Library contains more than seven thousand books on the subject of Economics and it has an access to a digital library where the students may download more than one hundred journals.
In near future, Department of Economics will introduce a new program; i.e; Development Economics, the most demanding subject of the developing world.
