Who are Alumni?
The word 'alumni' is derived from the Latin noun 'alere' and means former pupil or student. All graduates and former students of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur who have successfully completed their Bachelor's, Master's, M.Phil or Ph.D degrees are considered alumni of the University. This includes graduates of the sub-campuses Bahwalnagar and Rahim Yar Khan.

The Islamia University of Bahawalpur has a rich heritage that dates back to the founding year (1975) of the University and as such the academic and professional journey of our Alumni spans decades. The University is very proud of the accomplishments of our graduates and the contribution that they have given to their chosen industries, professions and communities. Today our alumni are found in every age group and in all the major cities of Pakistan and abroad.

The Islamia University would like to benefit from the experience and diversity of its Alumni and thus has started a very much needed Alumni Association, formally known as "Islamians Alumni Association" or IAA for short. Islamians Alumni Association is formed to bring together students, staff and graduates to support the University in the realization of its vision and to encourage their involvement within the University and build networks through social, professional, intellectual and educational activities.

Members of the Alumni Association who settle their annual dues are considered active members. As such they are entitled to nominate and elect the Executive Committees of their Chapters, and enjoy the Alumni Associations benefits.

No matter where you are or when you attended the university, you are part of the Islamians Alumni family!!

How can I join IAA?
Submit the membership fee. The annual membership fee is Rs.500. You can submit this fee into the Islamians Alumni Association account of any Habib Bank Ltd. Branch located near you.

Once we receive your membership fee, we will post you your Alumni Packet that contains information on how you can start using your Alumni membership card and save money shopping and dining at your favorite places!

Working together is success.

You as an individual will be negotiating your own path in life, but it is always better to have a support network. A network of professionals who can help you in achieving your professional goals and in return you help those who are following you on the same Path.

Islamians Alumni Association provides a platform for local and national University graduates and provides for you a network of contacts for the University. You get to touch base with all your friends who are dispersed inside and outside of Bahawalpur. Plus you can keep in touch with all the new changes that are taking place back home in Bahawalpur and in the form of a newsletter have news delivered to your electronic doorsteps.

It is through your successes, contributions and continuing support that the University will continue to be a responsive and effective university serving students, graduates and the community in which we live.

Aims of Islamians Alumni Association

In support of the University's vision and goals, IAA aims to:

1. To promote, foster and maintain links between the Association's members and the University.

2. Build awareness, understanding and unity among the alumni as to the developments at the University.

3. Provide alumni input on University issues.

4. Support student recruitment efforts and provide a network of contacts to Manager Placement.

5. Conduct reunions, events and seminars that are of interest to alumni.

6. Encourage the alumni to provide and update their information with the Association. Identify ways alumni can be involved     in the University campus and encourage distinguished alumni to serve as speakers in workshops and seminars.

7. Provide a career network for graduates.

8. Increase alumni participation in University advancement activities, including financial and other types of support.
