Directorate of Planning & Development

 

 

The office of planning and development is functioning in the University since its inception. It acquired the status of an independent Directorate on 1st June, 2007. At present, the Directorate is manned by about 25 officers and staff, working in various technical and administration Divisions/sections to meet the increasing challenges and responsibilities. Its office building is under construction. This is Directorate is responsible to make efforts to materialize the vision of IUB. Its main function is to plan and coordinate the activities for development, improvement and strengthening of the infrastructure, system, structure and procedures to improve education and research in the University.

The Directorate has played a vital role in the development of the IUB during the recent past. During last 3 years, more than 175 projects costing about Rs. 3 Billion have been prepared, approved, funded and are at different stages of implementation. Moreover, projects costing more than 10 Billion have been envisioned and submitted to different funding agencies and are in pipeline.

Apart from the planning activities, the directorate has been directly involved in managing three mega projects of IUB and has played its active role in completion of more than 100 big & small projects. Following are its constituent divisions.

3. Resource Mobilization
4. Quality Assurance Cell
5. Printing Press

Designed division established to cater the architectural issues in house, addressing local architectural style, culture, construction techniques and environmental behavior resulting of precious resources of IUB.

Designed team comprises young motivated architects, engineers and draftsman which have delivered a number of projects in short time and developing their capacity for mega projects under the guideline of Director of Planning & Development.
