The Faculty of Education, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur is committed to improve the quality of its teacher training programmes. Therefore, Prof . Dr. Muhammad Aslam Adeeb Dean Faculty of Education, IUB has invited a Senior Expert from Germany to support the Department's Management, improving curriculum, course materials and teaching and learning methodologies as well as help the faculty members to improving their performances.

The Senior Expert Prof. Dr. Harald Husemann having decades of professional experience at University of Osnabruck, Germany, is on the visit to the Islamia University of Bahawalpur for six weeks. He was welcomed by faculty members as well as Dean on October 29, 2007.

The Professor Husemann earned his PhD from University of Kiel. His specialist knowledge is in Education, teacher training with focus on grammar schools, further training of teachers, development of curricula, personal development, project management in area of education, English literature and culture and German culture.. He is visiting professor in France, Britain, USA, Turkey, India, South Africa and Pakistan. He also worked as teacher at Lwak Girls' High School in Kenya.

The Professor Husemann proposed to offer a survey lecture and seminars/workshops on Intercultural Communications titled "Caught between Cultures: The immigrant experience in Britain" with description of Britain having a large immigrant population from her former Indian colony (now: Pakistan, India Bangladesh).

He has planned to invite the faculty members of Education Department to watch his teaching on:
Curriculum development, teaching methods (team teaching), students activities ( learning by doing), research methods, evaluation of teaching, development of teaching materials for schools, and study days in schools.
