The 34th meeting of the Academic Council of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur was held under the chair of Prof. Dr. Belal A. Khan, Vice Chancellor at Conference Room, Abbasia Campus. Deans of Faculties, Chairmen / Chairpersons, Heads of Departments, Registrar, Controller of Examinations, and Directors of Rahim Yar Khan and Bahawalnagar Campuses attending the meeting.

Prof. Dr. Belal A. Khan highlighted the significance of the Academic Council and is aims and objectives in the view of national education standards. He also discussed role of faculty members in maintaining education standard and said that after having latest and modern facilities, it is the duty of faculty members to guide students on proper lines so that the academic standards of the university may be enhanced. The Academic Council finalized following recommendations to be presented in the next meeting of the IUB Syndicate.

1. Study tours for BHMS and BEMS programs.
2. HEC reviewed local 5000 PhD Scholarships Scheme.
3. Nomination of member for Board of Studies of Bahawalpur Institute of Professional Institute.
4. Final recommendation of rules for the comprehensive exam of PhD and revision of previous rules.
5. Establishment of Under Graduate of Study Center.
6. Approval of MPhil and PhD syllabus for the subject of Persian under semester system.
