The Islamia University of Bahawalpur Pakistan

University College of Conventional Medicine (UCCM) is a constituent college of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. University College of Conventional Medicine was established in the year 2000. At that time it was the first such university level institution of BEMS in the public sector.
Department of Eastern medicine in this university is the outcome of the vision of Prof. Dr.Mahmood Ahmad the Dean, Faculty of Pharmacy & Alternative Medicine & Dr. Naveed Akhtar, the Principal of University College of Conventional Medicine.

" To produce highly competent, skilled & well-trained herbal physicians to provide health care services to the community at low cost.
" To promote research & development in herbal medicine.
" To improve the quality of unani tibb through excellent & up-dated courses conducted with in a creative & learning based environment.
" Commencement of M.Phil & Ph.D degree programme.
" To develop & maintain research of international standard.
" To explore the science behind eastern medicine.

The academic studies are followed by one year compulsory internship in hospital affiliated with U.C.C.M.
At present internship is sponsored by Qarshi foundation.
Rs. 6500/- stipend is also paid by Qarshi foundation per student per month.
